The graduation ceremony of the strategic leadership program for outstanding entrepreneurs (spring session 2022) was held on Mar 3.

Forty-five senior executives from high-tech enterprises graduated after finishing studies in the six sections of dual carbon goals, trend estimation, innovation, digital intelligence empowerment, industry-finance convergence and organizational transformation. The session was jointly sponsored by the Xiamen Torch Academy and Renmin Business School (RMBS) of Renmin University of China (RUC).

Professor Chi Fulin, head of the Hainan-based China Institute for Reform and Development (CIRD), commended the session for its uniqueness and competitiveness among senior management programs of its kind at home and abroad and said it was his honor to have given the last lesson.

Given the accelerated pace towards the Chinese-style modernization and the construction of world-class enterprises, Chi encouraged trainees to take their graduation as a new starting point, reinforce learning and improve their literacy to grow into excellent entrepreneurs with far-sightedness, pragmatism, modern management ability and social responsibility.

Cooperation with the Xiamen Torch Academy allows RMBS to better serve the local economy, fuel industrial innovation and accumulate valuable experience, said Zhang Jin, vice-dean of RMBS.

The academy has initiated multiple explorations and will undoubtedly generate demonstration effects and act as a benchmark across the country and the world, providing references for local governments and high-tech parks, Zhang noted.

Pan Ming, vice-president of Inspur and monitor of the second session of the program, thanked the Xiamen Torch Development Zone for High Technology Industries and the Xiamen Torch Academy for serving the development of enterprises and entrepreneurs and expressed gratitude for the collective efforts made by his classmates in creating a community boasting "internal circulation".

After the graduation ceremony, the book Beyond Excellence (2022) was released.

The Xiamen Torch Development Zone for High Technology Industries ranked a record-breaking 11th among the 169 national high-tech zones participating in a comprehensive evaluation in 2022, and its achievements are inseparable from those of the zone’s entrepreneurs who have the courage to explore and innovate, said an official of the zone.

The new era is in great need of entrepreneurs who keep pace with the times, and the strategic leadership program for outstanding entrepreneurs responds to the call of the era. The case collection Beyond Excellence (2022), a product of the program’s 2022 spring session, integrates trainees’ industrial insights and their analysis of enterprise development, and demonstrates their fulfillment of commitments made, said the official.

Beyond Excellence (2022) condenses the wisdom of entrepreneurs. The book focuses on such topics as innovation, dual carbon goals, corporate transformation and business activities to develop the Chinese-style modernization. Since May 2022 the editorial team and the editorial board of the academy had been preparing the outline, article style and design of the book, and senior economics and management editors were invited to polish its content, said Zhong Yongning, editor-in-chief of the Guangdong People's Publishing House in his video speech.

“Beyond Excellence (2022) not only inherits the pragmatism and innovation of last year’s first edition but also greatly improves its case analysis, business management model and methodology. It embodies the management concept and latest thinking of Chinese entrepreneurs in the new era," Zhong said.

Author representatives of Beyond Excellence (2022) presented autographed books to Chi and the Xiamen Torch Academy and received monographs written by Chi.
