The lecture was jointly organized by the organization department of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee and the administrative committee of the Xiamen Torch Development Zone for High Technology Industries and undertaken by the Xiamen Torch Academy to implement guiding principles of the just-concluded Xiamen Conference on Sci-tech Innovation.
In his lecture, Cao reviewed the history and development of China's science, technology and modern industries. He called on Xiamen to intensify its efforts in the development of high-end equipment manufacturing and the construction of research centers in collaboration with universities and high-tech enterprises at home and abroad.
The lecture provided participants with broader perspectives and visions for deepening the integration between sci-tech innovation and industrial development and helped Xiamen achieve high-quality growth.
The Thousand-People Class was launched in July 2014 to invite experts and scholars to lecture participants on frontier economic, sci-tech and bio-medical topics as well as traditional Chinese culture.
