Organized by Xiamen Torch Academy, display and semiconductor enterprises in the Xiamen Torch Development Zone for High Technology Industries recently visited Ji Hua Laboratory in Foshan, Guangdong province.
After touring the exhibition halls and testing centers, representatives from the enterprises held a symposium with experts from the lab on its operation mode, technology research and development, achievement transformation and project incubation, as well as instrument and equipment sharing.

The lab welcomed the visiting enterprises to dock with its instrument and equipment sharing platform and called on them to jointly make breakthroughs in core technologies.
The lab’s technology R&D model and instrument sharing platform are unique, serving as a bench mark for innovation resources, according to enterprises in the high-tech zone. They will strengthen communication and strive for cross-domain innovation resource sharing and business cooperation.

As one of the first provincial laboratories initiated in Guangdong, Ji Hua intends to gather and integrate dominant innovation resources at home and abroad to create a strategic sci-tech innovation platform in advanced manufacturing.
The lab has Cao Jianlin, former vice-minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology and head of Huixin (Xiamen) Science and Technology Innovation Research Institute, as its first chairman and director.
Focusing on the study of new display equipment, semiconductor technology and equipment, robotics and related key technologies and new materials and devices, it has made breakthroughs in 16 pieces of key display manufacturing equipment in three major areas of TFT array technologies, flexible OLED mid-range core technology, and micro-LED mid-range core technology.
At present, the lab houses more than 1,400 researchers and has applied for more than 1,200 invention patents. It has conducted 212 national and provincial major research projects, with funding totaling nearly 1.7 billion yuan ($240.94 million).
